Living Our Dream
Paul and Margery Zeller
We are baby boomers privileged to enjoy our dream of early retirement while traveling full-time in our RV. We have been on the road for two years. We invite you to join us as we explore this amazing country. Our heartfelt thanks to our soldiers and their families for their sacrifices to ensure our freedom so that we can pursue our dream.
Our four-year "in the planning stages" dream of retiring early to go "on the road" full-time moved into high gear when God provided early retirement for Paul. In less than five months Paul retired as a manufacturing engineer for Mine Safety Appliances, and I retired as a church ministry administrator. Paul prepared not only our home but his 91 year-old father-in-law's house for market. The houses sold within two weeks of each other and closed within 10 days.
By the end of five months, we had given away or sold everything we owned except for some memorabilia we left with our daughter and her husband. Downsizing has been very freeing for one of us and she highly recommends it! The other isn't convinced, yet.... but he's enjoying the current ride. :)

La Casita Bella
La Casita Bella - The Beautiful Little House
Two women on the road, two friends on a journey. We are Bernie and Mar and we are living the dream of a lifetime. We sold everything we owned to buy an RV and pay for the first part of this trip. We plan to take a year (or two) to travel around the US, working along the way to pay for the rest of the trip. The name of our RV is La Casita Bella, or Bella for short. We invite you to be a part of this dream come true. Please visit our blog often to find out about Bella's adventures on the road.

RV Romance
Bess McBride travels the United States in a recreational vehicle in search of her next story!
Born in Aruba to American gypsy parents and raised among the oil fields of Venezuela until age twelve when her family returned to the U.S., Bess wasted no time in returning to the road by joining the U.S. Air Force at age eighteen. Following twenty-one wonderful, fulfilling years traveling the world, she retired in Washington State and settled down to outwit, outlast and outplay the teen years of her only daughter, often a lead character in Bess’s books. Tossing said child to the wolves of a respectable university, Bess used every penny of the GI Bill, educated herself with a master’s degree in counseling psychology and took off for the potato plantantions of Idaho to counsel those in need. Three years of toe-tapping, seat shifting, stressful “homesteading” later, Bess sold her house, bought a truck and RV and hit the road once again with an aim to write romance novels on sunny beaches in the winter and work for the National Park Service during the summer. It’s not the easiest life, but somebody’s got to do it!

Laura and Sasha's Excellent Adventure
Laura and Sasha gave up the 'good life' of suburbia.
Laura writes on their web site: "We sold our home May 2007. With the mortgage, the property taxes, utilities, lawn care, storage, newspaper, maid, insurance, HOA fees, and maintenance we were averaging about $3000 a month. We both worked full-time and many of our weekends were spent cleaning up or maintaining the home. We were feeling stifled by the home. We wanted OUT!"
Those sentiments are felt by many folks who turn to full time RVing as a more adventurous and fulfilling lifestyle. What makes Laura and Sasha stand out from most of us is they chose to full time on a truck camper!
Laura dies a great job a journaling their experiences at workcamping and living in a small space. She also provides a monthly budget of their expenses. Laura and Sasha's Excellent Adventure

A good friend of ours, Mike Saccomano, has been very helpful to us with website & webmaster advice. We get together a couple of times a year to discuss what's new in the world of the internet and he always has great advice for how I can improve RVbasics.com.
As well as being an avid RVer & camper he also runs a successful website called AwesomeTools.com. I think its a great site with some interesting products you won't necessarily find at Home Depot.
Mike has a webpage on AwesomeTools.com with products he feels may be of interest to campers and RVers so we said we'd help spread the word. Its the least we can do for all the help he has given me.
I think the Grizzly Spit Portable Campfire Rotisserie System is kinda neat. And, if you use 5# propane cylinders check out the Grill Gauge.
Mike says he uses one on his camping trips and it really works. So, if you have a few minutes and an internet connection, please check out Mike's Awesome Tools website.

Parents, Driven to Educate Their Sons, Plan Cross-Country Motorhome Adventure
The planning began more than a year ago, but the real commitment came during Christmas when Dan and Jennifer Taylor invested $135,000 in a used RV and mapped out a year-and-a-half journey across America.
Dan and Jennifer Taylor, along with sons Griffin and Mason, will visit 52 cities and make dozens more day trips on their adventure. The trip will supplement the children's home-schooling curriculum.
The family's blog takes readers along for the ride.
