Levonne lives in The Jazz, the 29-foot fifth-wheel trailer that she shares with her spouse John and their two dogs Dakota and Gingee. They are volunteer campground hosts and relocate from the U.S. Southwest to Central Coast California. This blog is the ongoing story of their RV adventure and relocation. And it is an exploration of the people, places and things encountered in California campgrounds and communities.

Kevin and Sheryl, are a couple who love life (hence the blog name)enjoy and love each other immensely. I Kevin retired from the Air Force in Jun 06 and Sheryl is a recently retired RN. They have wonderful children, scattered around the country.

They became full time RVers 1 Apr 2010 and will be traveling the country and taking in all she has to offer. They will be exploring the back roads in their jeep and the front roads in the travel trailer. So tag along as they enjoy the RV lifestyle and all it has to offer.

After raising two daughters and helping with their kids, we hit the road in 2002, and haven’t stopped since. We are full-time RVers – no house, no jobs, no lawn to mow, and like rolling stones, we gather no moss.

Their motorhome, Rocinante, “Rosie” for short, is a 2001 Itasca Suncruiser, made by Winnebago. She is 36 feet long, built on a Ford Triton chassis. We bought her new in 2002. She has one slide-out room, part living room, part kitchen.

Rosie has been to 31 of our United States, two Canadian Provinces, and into Mexico. She’s got 51,000 miles under her fanbelt, at about 7 miles per gallon average. She’s climbed the Rockies, the Sierra Nevada, the Cascades, and the Siskyous. She’s crossed the Continintal Divide in several states. She has traveled the Alaska Highway and the Cassiar, the “Top of the World” highway, parts of Route 66, and some very interesting back roads surfaced with gravel and dirt.

She’s been stuck in the mud twice, waded through melting permafrost, and blown one tire.

Rosie is more than anxious to see where she’ll go next, and so, quite frankly, are we.

Leaving home in Portland, OR, they plan to travel the northern states, move into the midwest, and eventually get to Navarre, FL for a couple months. While in FL we will take a Caribbean cruise. In mid February, they will head west, in a very general way…stopping at lots of places…and wherever their interest takes them!!!

We are baby boomers privileged to enjoy our dream of early retirement while traveling full-time in our RV. We have been on the road for two years. We invite you to join us as we explore this amazing country. Our heartfelt thanks to our soldiers and their families for their sacrifices to ensure our freedom so that we can pursue our dream.

Our four-year “in the planning stages” dream of retiring early to go “on the road” full-time moved into high gear when God provided early retirement for Paul. In less than five months Paul retired as a manufacturing engineer for Mine Safety Appliances, and I retired as a church ministry administrator. Paul prepared not only our home but his 91 year-old father-in-law’s house for market. The houses sold within two weeks of each other and closed within 10 days.

By the end of five months, we had given away or sold everything we owned except for some memorabilia we left with our daughter and her husband. Downsizing has been very freeing for one of us and she highly recommends it! The other isn’t convinced, yet…. but he’s enjoying the current ride. :)
